Return to Play Guidelines

To attend and participate in the National D2 Showcase, the parent/guardian must complete the Questionaire Form prior to the showcase start date.

COVID-19 has impacted all areas of life, and youth sports are no exception. States and counties are publishing their own unique guidelines for permitting youth sports to return over designated phases, creating a patchwork of guidelines and dates for returning to practice and games. Governing bodies, sports facilities, and event operators are creating modifications and adaptations for participants and spectators to ensure a safe environment.

 

Participants and staff can feel confident the recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), Local, County and State Government to sanitize high touch areas and equipment, promote and monitor social distancing guidelines, limit admission to those under age 65 with no CDC-indicated pre-existing conditions, and completing of health and contact-information questionnaire prior to entering the venue are being followed.

 

Additionally, the National D2 Showcase has created a hybrid safety plan for its participants and staff.

  • Stagger athlete arrival and departure times. Everyone entering the facility will be subject to temperature/symptom check

  • Limit access to one spectator (parent/guardian) per registered athlete. Facemask required while in the venue at all times. Designated seating – standing areas. No tents, chairs, or outside food allowed.

  • Facility Use Agreement and Permits of Approval to be issued by venues in accordance with local, county and state guidelines

  • Establish event schedule timeline

  • No customary handshakes

  • Facial mask to be worn by coaches, staff, and athletes when in close proximity (less than 6 feet of each other). Facemasks will be issued to athletes and coaches

  • Hand sanitizing areas

  • No sharing of equipment or water bottles. Athletes and coaches to bring water containers.

  • Hydration station will be available to refill containers

  • Recommend that athletes purchase (beforehand) protective face shield for helmet application

  • Access to restrooms and locker rooms will be limited

Do not attend OR participate if:

  • You are feeling ill.  Symptoms of the coronavirus can include fever (temperature of 100.0 as defined by the CDC), cough, difficulty breathing, and other symptoms as outlined by the CDC website.

  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19 in the prior 14 days.

  • If unsure about whether to attend or participate in practice due to possible symptoms OR exposure, it is recommended you contact your health care provider.
